GI Distress' six ingredients, especially Yucca and Venus Fly Trap, have a pronounced effect on pathogens throughout the animal's body. According to folk medicine, Yucca extracts have anti-arthritic and anti-inflammatory effects. The plant contains several physiologically active phytochemicals and is a rich source of steroida saponins. The ancient plant, Venus Fly Trap, extracts nitrogen from insects instead of the soil, its enzymes are highly specialized proteins. These protein enzymes are capable of digesting pathogenic protein structures, such as those causing chronic digestive disorders.
Start with 2 drops in food or liquid 2x in the first day. With a positive response or no response raise dose to 4 drops for cats and 10 drops for dogs 2x daily. For severe cases of diarrhea and vomiting dosages may be as much as doubled.
Treatment Resistant diarrhea and vomiting is where no natural or chemical remedy is effective. This can often be controlled by GI Distress 10-20 drops, 2-3x daily for each 0-20 pounds weight.
To achieve optimum effectiveness, administer GI Distress at least one hour separately from other Vitality Science remedies you may be using.
Almost all tinctures are made with alcohol because of its superior ability to extract plant compounds. GI Distress is 45% alcohol. While cats are sensitive to alcohol, the tiny amounts recommended are very safe for almost all cats. However, if you find that your cat or dog acts intoxicated after the initial dose then you will need to burn off the alcohol (cats are more likely to have this sensitivity). This is easily done by heating up a small glass in boiling water, remove the hot glass and add the amount of tincture that you wish to administer. The alcohol will burn off immediately and now the remaining liquid may be given to your cat or dog. Use caution when handling the hot glass.
GI Distress is perfectly safe to take over longer periods of time, stop after stabilization is achieved to maintain effectiveness.
Caution: Do not give to pregnant or nursing mothers. Do not use for more than four weeks on animals with serious liver conditions.
Venus Fly Trap is one of the fascinating secrets of the nutraceutical world to promote a healthy immune system.
Apparently, the highest levels of government and industry are aware of the work done with Venus Fly Trap. Following the removal of malignant polyps from his colon, President Ronald Reagan sent to Nordhalben, Germany for an herbal extract to take as a preventative medicine. Thereafter, he drank 30 drops of this extract, Carnivora, in a glass of purified water or herb tea four times a day, according to records kept by the extract's German manufacturer.
Yucca: Antiseptic & Antiparasitic
Yucca schidigera is a medicinal plant native to Mexico.
Saponins have diverse biological effects, including anti-protozoal activity. Protozoa diseases in which part of the life cycle occurs in the gastrointestinal tract respond to the anti-protozoal activity of the saponins in Yucca.
Yucca powder and yucca extract are used as animal feed additives. Beneficial effects in livestock and poultry production include: increased growth rate and improved feed conversion efficiency, reduction in atmospheric ammonia in confinement animal and poultry facilities, anti-protozoal and nematocidal activity, modification of ruminal microbe populations, inhibition of Gram-positive bacteria, reductions in stillbirths in swine, and anti-arthritic activity in horses and dogs.
Matricaria recutita (German Chamomile) is used medicinally against sore stomach, and as a gentle sleep aid.
Folk medicine cites chamomile for speeding wound healing in animals. It may be old-fashioned but it is an extremely efficacious remedy for hysterical and nervous affections. It has a soothing, sedative, and absolutely harmless effect.
Nepeta cataria (Catnip) Catnip tea was the most commonly consumed herbal beverage in Europe prior to the importation of teas from the orient. Consuming Catnip tea has long been used in traditional herbal medicine to quell digestive disturbances.
While the smell produces a harmless high for felines, consuming the extract is beneficial for felines, canines, and humans. It helps to relieve gas, calm spasms and quiet excitable nerves.
Catnip contains considerable quantities of vitamins C and E, both excellent antioxidants. The primary phytochemicals, nepetalactone isomers, are mild sedatives, somewhat like the active ingredients in valerian.
Scutellaria lateriflora (Skullcap) is an herb from the mint family. It is nervine, anti-inflammatory, and anti-spasmodic herb that relaxes the twitches and spasms related to some kinds of treatment-resistant diarrhea,
and calms nervous fears, such as fear of car riding, fear of vets, and any unnatural fear.
Licorice: Soothing & Healing
is known as The Great Harmonizer because of its ability to make all other herbs work more effectively. Licorice is the second most prescribed herb in China. Rhizomes in Licorice have a high mucilage content which, when mixed with water or used in cough drops, soothes irritated mucous membranes. Today, herbal preparations containing Licorice Root are used to lower acid levels and coat the stomach wall with a protective gel.

''I just wanted to commend you on your business' level of customer care and service.
I developed a business in 2001 from the ground up and have always ensured that customer service was one of the core pillars of my business. Doing right by our clients has lead us to great success (and I don't mean financial success only). As my business grew, I have had to deal with LOTS of vendors both in my personal and professional life and became very surprised how often I dealt with terrible customer service and terribly managed businesses. Exceptional companies were an exception.
I just want to let you know that your business is the EXCEPTION with customer service.
I am still hopefully optimistic that my new protocol with Max will successfully help him. He still has diarrhea BUT his appetite is SLOWLY returning and I think adding the GI Distress is taking the edge of the 'bacteria war".

''After much experimentation with your products, I am happy to say Tiny is finally doing better.
Although she continues to have diarrhea, it is no longer explosive and she is able to keep it the litter box. I no longer have to follower her around with my rug cleaning spray and paper towels.
The Luxolite and Feline Comfort Plus, had either no or negative effects.
What has worked is 6-7 drops of GI Distress and 1 pill of Lithothamnium with each of her two daily feedings.
I have also determined that she intolerant to all wet chicken based foods, so she gets only turkey or salmon cat food now.
Thank you for your help and sending me the Lithothamnium, it has had a positive impact for Tiny and me."
