Colostrum is the first milk a new born receives from its mother and is designed by Nature to protect the newborn against pathogens. Colostrum is from the heart of creation. Colostrum has a long and interesting history as a super food. The ancient Greeks used colostrum to treat many types of infections. Before the 1950s, colostrum was used to treat polio. FDA approved claims for colostrum include increasing immunological activity, which is especially important for animals with cancer, colitis, IBS, and allergies. The FDA also recognizes colostrum’s value in the production of beneficial microflora, and the inhibition of harmful bacteria in the colon. The best colostrum, and the only quality we use, is from grass fed cows, free of hormones, antibiotics, heavy metals, and pesticides. Our colostrum is tested for bioactivity, pesticides, antibiotics, BST, and heavy metals, and is certified for human consumption.

Lactoferrin is a critically important immuno-protein in colostrum. Scientists have discovered that Lactoferrin has immune-enhancing and bactericidal effects. Recent discoveries have shown lactoferrin prevents pathogens from attaching to the epithelial cells lining the mouth and intestinal tract. Lactoferrin acts on a broad spectrum of microbial species, including protozoa, yeast, bacteria, and viruses. As a consequence of this action, lactoferrin has been clinically shown to reduce inflammation in IBS, Crohn’s disease, and lead to a vastly improved GI function.
Note: While colostrum contains lactoferrin, we also add pure lactoferrin.

Lithothamnium calcareum is a red algae that concentrates sea minerals. It is widely used to alkalinize and contributes to a normalization of joint and gastrointestinal function.
